There's 2 types of Hospital Corpsman.

  1. Hospital Corpsman.

They usually work in a hospital, they are the nurse's right hand. They're usually fresh into the military.

  2. Fleet Marine Force Corpsman. Usually when you are with the Marines you have been in a couple years.

We call it Green Side. This is where you started your objectives towards the FMF Qualifications. Depends on what unit you are with on the green side is usually what extra skills you obtain. I received my HMMWV license so I could drive the Battalion ambulance. I learned all about the Howitzers, I learned how "things are done" in the field. Field dressings and communications is key. You are there to perform as the Medical Professional. You learn a lot about medicine, patient care, sutures, IVs.

I was certified as a Rifle Coach for MTU 29 Palms MCAGCC.

I did 10 years and it was the best thing I was ever part of.

Will drop some more text later.
